Video calls have become the norm. So, why not virtual organizing? That’s one of the services The Mudroom is now offering during the pandemic and probably beyond.
How does it work? It starts with you selecting a room or area of your home or business you want organized. Via video call, I will evaluate the area and devise a plan to organize and declutter that space. Then, I will act as a shadow—more like a coach—and hold you accountable for the steps needed to take place to declutter and organize.
The virtual organization can also work if you have a second home. I can visit your other home and, together, we can size up what needs to be done. That can range from one room in the house to one area to opening up the entire house. The shadowing continues when opening a home, only in reverse as I can show you my progress room by room.
For the virtual organizing, The Mudroom is offering a special discounted rate with a commitment of one-hour minimum.
The current pandemic has created a situation like none of us have ever seen before. Yet it does bear an analogy to a story as old as time.
When a ship out at sea is heading through a bad storm, the captain will order non-essential cargo off the boat. By ridding the ship of non-essential items and unneeded weight, it stabilizes the boat.
If the last month and half has taught us anything, it’s that we are sailing uncharted waters during a violent storm. As we wander about the cabins of our ships—our homes—we see firsthand what is essential and what is not. During a time like this, it brings about our instincts to stabilize our ship and bring some control to a situation that feels entirely out of control.
The Mudroom can help. Even if the items deemed for donation have to wait a few months. By decluttering and re-organizing, you can calm the waters of your home vessel as we sail towards safer seas.
